You are invited to try Yoga Nidra as taught by Swami Satyananda Saraswati – with Helen Briggs, Yoga teacher and Hypnotherapist. Every Sunday morning at 11am instead of the previous Thursday nights.
Yoga Nidra takes you into a deeply relaxed state, finding a stillness and silence beyond the activities of the mind. Yoga Nidra induces complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
It is practised lying prone on the floor, following the spoken instructions of the teacher. You are taken to a state between sleep and wakefulness, where you maintain a conscious awareness at a deeper level, while remaining fully awake and alert.
This state of conscious awareness is extremely beneficial: esp. for releasing stress and tension, resolving suppressed conflicts or memories and for experiencing the joy of subtler spiritual explorations or experiences. You come out of the class feeling more rested than you would after a good night’s sleep.
Yoga Nidra is for everyone. No experience of yoga postures is required to attend these sessions.
