Helen Briggs

Helen has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 30 years now, thoroughly enjoying exploring the physical and more subtle aspects of yoga and experiencing many different “styles” of yoga. Initially, her practice helped her through many stressful times in her life. It allowed her to find balance between her home life and a busy sales and marketing career, which eventually led her to open her own yoga and therapy centre in 2004.

After taking her first teacher training course in 2003 with the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, she now has about 15 years experience of teaching yoga and meditation.

Helen went on to train as a Perinatal Yoga teacher (Antenatal and Postnatal) through the Birthlight Organisation in 2004 and Yoga for Children through YogaBugs/Yoga’d Up in 2006. She also completed Judith Lasater’s “Relax & Renew” Restorative Yoga teacher training course in 2009. She is a member of the British Wheel of Yoga and continues her studies on an ongoing basis with world renowned teachers of various yoga traditions, such as Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers, Vinyasa Yoga with Seane Corn, Shiva Rea and Claire Missingham, Kundalini Yoga with Maya Fiennes, and Yoga Psychology with Dr Uma Krishnamurty.

Helen has been teaching yoga classes since 2003, drawing on her extensive experience of different yoga traditions. She seeks to provide students with a safe, supportive environment in which to improve strength, flexibility and stability, releasing deeply held tensions and rejuvenating their whole being.

In addition to teaching yoga and meditation, she is also a qualified Hypnotherapist, with specialist training in HypnoFertility® and HypnoBirthing®, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
