Lindsay from Leeds discovered Yoga at the age of 13 and was immediately hooked. Her teacher, Sonia Allen Wall, recognised Lindsay’s passion and nurtured it during the early years of her practice. At 18 Lindsay decided to postpone university and study intensely with the International Centre for Yoga Education and Research (www.icyer.com). For 52 weeks, she totally immersed herself in her yogic studies, developing her knowledge of Rishi Culture Ashtanga Yoga, now known as Gitananda Yoga.
In 1997, Lindsay was humbled to receive the International Student of the Year accolade from ICYER in addition to her first yoga diploma.
Since then Lindsay’s yoga journey has allowed her to develop as a yoga practitioner and teacher. In 2008, she completed Brian Cooper’s 200 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Diploma and became accredited by Yoga Alliance UK (www.yogaalliance.co.uk). In 2009, Lindsay trained with Ajay Kumar at the home of Ashtanga in Mysore, India and completed intensive pranayama training with BNS Iyengar.
Some twenty years on, Lindsay’s love and commitment to yoga continues to flourish.
