Hatha Flow Yoga with Helen

Hatha Flow Yoga uses physical movement to create mental stillness and is essentially a ‘moving meditation’, the aim being to energise the body and calm the mind. The class begins with some gentle opening warm up exercises followed by an evolving sequence of “Sun Salutations” to generate heat before moving on to hold various traditional yoga postures (Asanas) for a length of times to building strength, stamina and flexibility. There is a strong focus on the use of the breath and breathing techniques (Pranayama) to both encourage flowing from one posture to another and to centre the mind. Expect to feel calm and rejuvenated at the end of class. The class is suitable for all levels and variations for some postures will also be given for more experienced students.
